Innovative Scientific Research and Technology

For the better understanding of Marine Science, Oceanic Environments, Communications, and Electrobiology

The Jupiter Research Foundation (JRF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit scientific research organization. Established in 2003, the Foundation is dedicated to conducting innovative scientific research and finding technological solutions to problems which are outside of mainstream science and technology. Our findings are shared with the public and academic community in hopes of better monitoring and understanding the natural world.

Today, JRF has refined its expertise in Marine Science, Oceanic Environments, Communications, and Electrobiology and is actively engaging in academic research as well as in the development of technology that provides information to solve tough global problems. One of the earliest successes was the invention of the Wave Glider, an autonomous, unmanned water surface vehicle, which led to the founding of Liquid Robotics Inc.

Current Areas of Research

We often get asked "Why Jupiter?" Our Talk Story will help explain our name and provide updates on our projects.

“The Whale Sings”, a JRF documentary by David Hoffman
on how the song of the humpback whale inspired the invention of the Wave Glider

JRF’s facilities and operations are based in Los Altos, California, and on the Kohala Coast of  the beautiful Big Island of Hawai’i. If you'd like to contact us, please email: admin@jupiterfoundation.org
